Welcome to RAFT

The Referral Agency for Facilitation & Training (RAFT) is a private agency providing services to families of individuals diagnosed with autism. RAFT is located in the city of Camarillo, California. The founder of this program, Reeta Mehta, works with children who are diagnosed with autism and their families in Ventura County. She has served these families for more than seven years and recognizes the need for a training program for parents.

There is an array of programs in the community; however, a very basic need is not yet fulfilled. Most parents with children affected by autism are not aware of how to take care of their child in an appropriate manner. They become confused with the many other programs and go by the word of other parents, not realizing that each child with autism has unique needs. It is also seen that many parents resort to alternative approaches which are not evidence-based or may be harmful to their child. In order to bridge this gap, Reeta developed this parent program in 2008 to fulfill this unmet need. This program is vendored with Tri Counties Regional Center and accessible to the public.

RAFT is family-centered, which is why we strive to help parents whose children have been diagnosed with autism. Our goal is to assist these parents by helping them to accept their situation. By learning about autism, parents are better able to understand and help their children to flourish in all aspects of life. Our hope is to create a positive attitude for all involved, as well as to develop knowledge and acceptance.
